Finally, proof I’m not insane just quirky due to my unbelievably high IQ. How do I know I have a high IQ, because of Flash. Er, at least according to Ivan Todorov of BLITZ Blog. He says we’re well rounded individuals with higher IQs due to our need to develop full applications and projects using higher design concepts and hardcore coding concepts. He comes to this conclusion after an extended blog post seems to prophesize the coming of Flash the Operation System. Flash is correlated to Windows 3.x (“a pretty GUI on top of DOS”) and Flash 8 is seen as a huge step towards the future.

I see all of this as a step towards Web 2.0 where Flash does act as an OS but also as a interconnected front end for various API based sites and systems. This has already started with sites like Yahoo and Google. But Flash may not be the end all be all. It’s just one of many new ways to control look, feel and interactions on the internet and on your computer. AJAX could be another way to take over the front end, but (given its dependence on web browsers) it may be the way Microsoft, Apple and even Mozilla can hold on to the web’s display. Plus Flash needs to be fleshed out for the unix and portable platforms in order to fully become the next OS.
